80k funded trader, Ruben M

Ruben M.

Ruben employs a dual-strategy approach tailored to his teaching schedule: shorting small-cap penny stock pumps pre-market using a scaling-in method, and trading large-cap stocks like Tesla after the market opens, utilizing Camarilla pivots, daily pivots, and horizontal levels. He relies on daily charts, moving averages, and pre-market highs/lows to identify biases, prioritizing simplicity and risk management to navigate volatility.

He has been trading since 2021, transitioning from a high-level ballet career with the San Francisco Ballet to teaching at the American Ballet Theater. After years of losses, he joined Trade The Pool, passed an $80,000 evaluation, and secured a $1,300 payout— the cherry on top.

Despite terminating his funded account, this experience became another teachable moment for him, demonstrating that even successful traders still make mistakes.

Tip 1

Indicators

Mostly horizontal levels. I basically just look at the daily chart in order to get, an idea of a bias. And then I'll use the daily pivots like high of day, some pre-market levels, and then Camarilla Pivots. It gives a set of pivots for the day and an idea if the stock is on breakout mode.

Tip 2

Termination after payout

Obviously, that's not something that is going to stop me. It's been four years of constantly losing and constantly fighting that battle. It teaches you to find new methods and new ways in which you can control your emotions.
